I found out about a book called Fashion Cats (cover above) by the Japanese artist Takako Iwasa and was intrigued. How can cats be fashionable? Well, she makes fashionable outfits for her two kitties then photographs them! Kind bizarre? Yes! Hello There Cutie-able? Heck yes!!! xxxo

Another Japanese Cutie

Rilakkuma is another popular Japanese character. This cartoon bear is often accompanied by Korilakkuma, who is a smaller white bear and Kiiroitori, a yellow chick. Korilakkuma frequently plays pranks on Rilakkuma while he is sleeping, such as drawing or putting headphones on him and sewing odd color patches on his bear suits. Cuties indeed! xxxo

Suntory Cuties

What is this? A good question! These cuties are from a Suntory beverage (I have no idea what) and are rather opposite. The smiley guy on the front (with a leaf accent) seems to welcome my partaking of his bevvie, whereas his friend on the twist-top is sad. Don't worry cuties: you're too cute to drink!!! xxxo

Cute USB Toy?

Leave it to the Japanese to create a USB flash drive that is also a cute toy! What does it do? I've heard that it turns red and blinks its eyes when you hit the letter "H" on your keyboard. How much fun is that?

Cute & Sad

Not sure why this birthday cutie is crying...maybe someone left her cake out in the rain? Maybe she's depressed about turning 5? It's okay sweetie 5 is the new 3! Maybe she was eliminated from that latest Toddlers & Tiaras competition? Or maybe she's just forgotten to take her meds...oh well. Cheer up, sleepy Jean.

Hello Papa Cutie

Beard Papa's
(麦の穂) is a Japanese chain known for their cream puffs. When the 1st one opened in SF, the line was around the block for a reason: the combo of a choux pastry shell (filled with yummy whipped custard) & a charming logo equaled irresistible! Whenever I see Papa, I think "whatta cutie" (cus he is!) then grab a pastry in his honor. Sacrifices for cute... xxxo

Cute & Crunchy

Yesterday I went shopping at HK Market in Glendale, CA and bought a bunch of yummy treats including Everyone Says Good Good Eat Wheat Crackers. These Japanese BBQ flavored snacks are actually fried ramen noodle crunch cakes that come packaged with an adorable, but sad little girl on the bag. My guess is that she is sad because she has finished her cute bag of Everyone Says Good Good Eat treats!
