A Cutie Dragon Year

Yesterday began the Chinese lunar year of the Dragon... traditionally not a lucky time if you were born a Dragon (as Doug & I were). I've been feng shui-ing my apartment and doing all to welcome the year with respect, so hopefully it will be one of happiness, prosperity and lotsa cute! And with Hello Kitty dressed up in her dragon costume, how can't it be? 新年快乐 and Hello There Cuties!!! xxxo

Chow Chow Cutie

The Chow Chow is an old breed dog that has appeared on Chinese pottery dating back to 206 BC. Its Chinese name is Songshi Quan meaning literally “puffy-lion dog.” A friendly and protective pup, the Chow can cost anywhere between $1,000 and $8,500 and is worth every penny for being so adorable. Hello There Cutie!!! xxxo

Ging = Cutie

Say "Hello There Cutie" to Hong Dong, the extremely rare Red Tibetan Mastiff that a Chinese industrialist paid $1.5 million for. Altho we do love our shelter critters here at HTC central, this guy sure did win us over with his floppy ging hair, sweet face and that it is believed the breed blessings of health and security. Hello There Cutie!!! xxxo

Gung Hey Fat Choy Cuties!

This week begins the celebration of Chinese New Year, the most important and longest-lasting holiday in the Chinese lunar calendar. Signs of happiness and prosperity are posted as well as the 2011 mascot: the rabbit. In celebration, we're taking this week to show some of our favorite bunnies (Amelie the pet rabbit insisted) and to send out big "Hello There Cuties" and "Gung Hey Fat Choys!" (aka Happy New Year) for the cutest of lunar years. xxxo
