Kuromi is Kute!

One sunny day in a SoCal mall with my partner in crime (-aka- this blog amongst many adventures) Doug, we discovered a new Sanrio character, Kuromi. She’s My Melody’s arch enemy... well maybe not enemy, but they’re total opposites. Kuromi's totally a punk rock, boy crazy version of My Melody in black... cute but tough. Wonder why I like her??? xxxo

Albaik Chickie

I was watching Anthony Bourdain on some travel show and he was in Jeddah. Of course eating. He went to a fast food place (Albaik) that grabbed my attention because of the logo. OMG, a chickie in a tophat and bowtie. Hello there cutie logo that has captured my heart. Today. xxxo

Oops!

Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker hosted the PTL Club, a evangelical tv show in the 80's. A sex scandal led to Jimmy's resignation from the ministry but not before J & TF put out a children's album with a super cute cover. Proof that even in evil there can be cute! xxxo

A Friend Is...

... Someone Who Likes You. That was the name of my favorite book as a little girl. It was written Joan Walsh Anglund, and explored all aspects of friendship. Illustrated in three-color and black-and-white, the pictures alone kept me transfixed for hours. And yes, I still have that same tattered and worn copy on my shelf. xxxo

Marshmallow

"Marshmallow" is a Caldecott-winning book from 1943 about a sweet little bunny who moves into a home already occupied by a cat named Oliver. At first Oliver does not welcome Marshmallow, but the little bun's charms are impossible to resist.... it is the true story of how they become friends and is beyond sweet. And, of course, cute. xxxo

More Blythe

Blythe

In 1972, the Blythe doll was born... sadly, her oversized head and peepers were deemed too scary for children so Blythe's manufacturer pulled her (and her sisters) the shelves, preventing many young girls from meeting her. Nowadays, a new generation of Blythe dolls can be found everywhere from Bendel's (where they do a special holiday edition) to hipster toy shops like Kid Robot. Why? Cus she's so cute! xxxo

Hedgehog

A friend in the Midwest once told me that he was going to bring a hedgehog to California to have as a pet. "Why?" I questioned as the name sounded so, well, not cute! Now that I've seen one I can understand the appeal. Soooo hello there cutie critter.
