A Cutie Kawaii Start to August!

It's August which for me is the happiest month ever!!! The sun shines extra bright, the birds seem to sing a bit prettier and oh, it's my bday month! Wee hee... August is going to be full of all my fave things: friends, family (a wedding included), gluten free cupcakes from Kara's (subtle hint), presents (another subtle hint), lotsa cute experiences and most of all, celebrating another year. And Hello There Cutie of course.   xxxo

SF Parrot Cuties

Way back in 2010, we wrote of a movie about the parrots of Telegraph Hill here in SF. These flying friends are rumored to of been escaped pets from the big earthquake and have continued to prosper thru the years. The photo above was posted this morning on Facebook by Lisa, who lives on Nob Hill (one hill over in SF) and is now able to hand feed these adorable flying friends... awww, talk about Hello There Cuties!!!   xxxo

Sponge Cuties

The other evening I had some friends over for supper and to my delight, one offered to do dishes while I fixed dessert. As there is no dishwasher in my place (except me!) I was thrilled but also pondered this: if I had Hello There Cutie worthy sponges on hand, would more guests volunteer to do my dishes? Hmmm, might need to go to the store to pick some up in the name of science!!!   xxxo

Cutie News Update!!!

Banana Sam (who we wrote about here) has been found and is back at the SF Zoo, being cared for by his zookeepers! The 2-pound cutie was shaking, hungry and cold when police returned him to the zoo Saturday evening, but he was clean and with no obvious trauma. It is uknown when Banana Sam will return to his exhibit with his 17 squirrel monkey friends, but we hope it's soon... Welcome home and Hello There Cutie!!! xxxo

OJ and Amelie are Cuties!

As you know, the mascot of Hello There Cutie is Amelie the bunny. During this time of year, Emme likes to have new friends come over for Easter-y photos with her. This little Cutie is OJ, who is non-stop crawling action, drool and bunny love. When he's a bit older, I think these two will be having tea parties and lotsa cuddles... for now, they're sweet bunny buddies. Hello There Cuties!!! xxxo

Blankie Cutie

Brrrr... it's cold, isn't it Cuties? I think I might need to get another blankie and, if I do, you know it'll be Hello There Cutie worthy! I found this flannel owl one on Etsy, and warmed me up just looking at it. How can you be chilly with adorable owls, their fun friends and bright happy colors? Feelin warmer already, how about you??? xxxo

Pop-Up Shop Cuties

This weekend in SF Hello Kitty and her friends will be having a pop-up shop... I wonder if the bunny pirate on the right will be there? And the Merry Melody twins? The giant smiling hamburger? One person for sure there will be me shouting out "Hello There Cuties!" xxxo

Secret Squirrel is a Cutie

Had supper the other pm with my friends Noah and Christine. Their nickname for me is Secret Squirrel and they gave me a Cutie worthy SS figurine. Back in the 60s, Secret Squirrel was a kids cartoon that was a spoof of spy movies; luckily his sidekick Morocco Mole would help him get out of trouble. Laundry Cutie

I don't have laundry in my apartment... nor building... nor block. So I have to take my dirties to the laundromat. Friends know I'm not keen on the concept, and the ones with washers/dryers often volunteer theirs when I'm coming over; today is one of those happy days!!! xxxo

At Hello There Cutie we believe that the world is an ugly place... cute balances it. Censorship is seriously ugly, and we dedicate today's posting to our friends at South Park Studios. Somedays I'm amazed what comes across my cute path... today is one. We all know about the Japanese Kawaii (ie cute) movement but didja know it extends to food? I don't know if I could eat Hello Kitty in a bunny outfit with her friends surrounding her on a plate... this is just too darn cute!!! Hello There Cutie. xxxo

I get teased by certain friends that I view the world a bit cutely, and they've been waiting for a unicorn post... proof patience pays-off! This embroidery has it all: a pretty pony unicorn, smiling rainbow clouds, shooting star and the ubiquitous "I heart" next to the unicorn because, well, who doesn't love a 70s inspired cutie??? xxxo

Kai-lan Chow Is Cute

Kai-lan Chow is a playful preschool cutie who speaks both English & Mandarin Chinese on Nick Jr. Tolee (a koala) and Rintoo (a tiger) are her best friends that each day share the fun of true friendship... while covertly teaching us Mandarin!!! "Ai yo." With her big brown eyes, arms open for a hug and sweet flowers in hair, how can't we say to Kai-lan "喂在那里聪明伶俐!" xxxo

I have no idea who the illustrator for this is, but my reaction was "That's us, the Hello There Cutie team!" Altho in different cites, Doug and I are attached as friends and partners in cute, via our laptops and crafting. So a big Hello there cuties to us this summer-y day. xxxo

Politeness is Cute

In London, there's a current public ad campaign under the banner of "Together For London." These cuties, along with their friends, have messages of what they'll do to make transport in London a pleasant experience. As I take the bus on occasion, I really appreciate the one who "won't eat smelly food." xxxo

Dawn's Dance Party friends included Angie, Dale, Glori, Jessica, Fancy Feet and Longlocks. There were four boy dolls named Gary, Van, Kevin and Ron. What a cute bunch!
