Kawaii Rainy Cutie

It was a wonderfully dry winter in SF and our first big storm of spring is here! Although I've enjoyed the sunshine, the rain feels rather refreshing. I have an appt. at noon and am looking forward to putting on my Burberry slicker, rainboots and carrying a fabulous parasol out and about. Looks like our friend Hello Kitty has the same idea... xxxo

I'm not sure about you, but here in SF winter is approaching... so time to find some Cutie-worthy sweaters! This one, by the designer Peter Jensen, can be found at Urban Outfitters and is def on my radar. And I think Emme the bunny might appreciate it too! What do you think Cuties? xxxo

Minnesota Cuteness

In Minnesota, the state Department of Natural Resources is urging drivers to give turtles a brake. (pun intended) Why? Well, the turtles are trying to get from their winter homes to their warm-weather nesting areas and often must cross roads to do so. Minnesota, you're officially our Cutie state of the day for caring about these lovely amphibians!!! xxxo

Groundhog Day Cuteness

February 2 2010 is two things in my land: Groundhog Day and the premiere of Lost.

Groundhog Day tradition has it that if the gopher Punxsutawney Phil (from Penn.) emerges from his temporary burrow—a simulated tree stump at the rural site of Gobbler's Knob—today and sees his shadow, winter weather will continue for 6 more weeks across the US. But if Phil doesn't see his shadow, then spring is just around the corner... we're hoping for the latter.

Tonites Lost will be fun, drinking Dharma beer (made the cute labels myself!) with friends and hoping that our fave cutie characters will live. And declaring that certain ones aren't cute-worthy (Jack!).

Yes, it's a Cutie Day indeed!!! xxxo

Cold and rainy mornings like today make me wish I was hibernating until Spring like this bear in Angie Chan's delightful illustration. With winter now upon us, this illustration by Shout of a lone skater in Central Park made me smile for a joy of the season. I wonder if all those patterns are his skate trails alone, or perhaps include those of his friends who are now prepping a cup of cocoa for him... xxxo
