Bilby Cutie

Here at Hello Tere Cutie, we're always looking for something new: this chocolate from Australia is todays! Not a typical Easter bunny or duckie, this Bilby (a marsupial that in Aboriginal means “long nosed rat”) comes to us via Haigh's chocolates down under. Bilbies fall into "so ugly they are cutie" for me: a pointy muzzle that is like a rat, long ears like a rabbit and very soft, fluffy fur. Add in that this one is made of chocolate for Easter... well Hello There Cutie!!! xxxo

Ozzie Cuties

January 26th is Australia Day down under and you might be wondering what that is! Well, it commemorates British sovereignty over the country way back in the 1700's. As one would expect, people find this holiday a bit controversial and is called Invasion Day by many. I'm not politically minded in regard to Australia Day but am very cute-ly minded instead: looking at this years celebratory (and rather adorable) logo, these critters def get a big Hello There Cutie!!! xxxo

Baby Platypus Cuties

Now here's some Cuties you rarely see: a pair of baby platypuses! These semi-aquatic creatures live in Australia, are covered with fur but have web feet and a flat beak like a duck. And they growl! (betcha it's adorable when they do) Hello There Cuties! xxxo

Look Closely Cuties!

Of all the amazing images to have come out from the Queensland floods, this has to be the cutest... a wee green frog hitching a ride on the back of a brown snake! Armin Gerlach was visiting friends in a flood-hit town last week when he spotted the unlikely pair and snapped this pic. Isn't nature magical? (and darn Cutie!) xxxo

Crikey Cutie

My nephew went to Australia and asked what he should bring me back. "A baby kangaroo" I replied and voila, look who came in the mail! Crikey, it's a sweet baby roo wearing a wee vest with matching Outback hat. A big Hello There Cutie to both my nephew and the sweet stuffed animal gift today! xxxo

Wombat Cutie

Who is this Cutie waving at us? Why it's Karmann, the orphaned baby wombat! This helpless little creature owes her life to a driver who rescued her from the pouch of her dying mother, who had been run over in Australia. Karmann now lives in the Warrandyte Wildlife Shelter in Melbourne and looks to be a star already. Hello There Cutie!!! xxxo

Luk Chai = Cutie

Luk Chai is a 1 month old boy elephant at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney who is stealing the hearts of all visitors. After seeing this photo, I understand why. Whatta cutie with personality to boot! And yes, that is a regulation size soccer ball... Hello there cutie Luk! xxxo
