Monsters Can Be Cuties

It's a month and a day til Halloween Cuties... and I'm pondering sending this card from Rifle to all the gouls and goblins I know. This monster Cutie, stomping thru a graveyard with a ghost in hand, is hopefully just bringing his friend home and not having a ghostly snack. That wouldn't be very filling, would it? xxxo

13 Word Cuties

Tonight my sis-tah Deb and I are going to hear the artist Maira Kalman speak with Lemony Snicket. They have a book in that Snicket curates 13 of the most essential words of all time — Bird, Despondent, Cake, Dog, Busy, Convertible, Goat, Hat, Haberdashery, Scarlet, Baby, Panache and Mezzo-Soprano — and pairs each with original illustrations in Kalman’s signature simple-loveliness style. Fun, huh Cuties? xxxo

Stamp This Cutie

Had to mail some bills (like rent!) today and looked at my postage stamps. Mommy always bought the prettiest ones she could find and mine are kinda, well, boring. Made me think about postage stamps and if there are any cutie ones out there. Of course there are!!! These are from Japan and don't they make you want to lick, stick and shout out Hello There Cutie? xxxo

Jelly Cuteness

I am super excited Cuties! Inspired by making wine shots for a dinner party last pm, my friend and I ordered a UK book on updated jelly (or as us Yanks say Jello-O) recipes. Which should we make first? Campari and orange or fresh summer fruit? xxxo

In celebration of cute-ness, we bring you this fabulous illustration by Or Arad. I tried to find out about the artist, but am unable to past this link on the Society6 website. Nonetheless, this is so fluffy and sweet, it makes me want to cuddle with Emme for hours. Hello There Cutie!!! xxxo

Healthy Cuties

Today I've got boot camp, and I sure wish I could wear something like the cutie in yellow is. Imagine my trainer's surprise when I'd show up in a yellow pinafore instead of workout gear... This book was published in 1940 and is filled with tips on making sure your child is healthy (and mentally sound) before and after starting school. What about after boot(ie) camp Cuties? xxxo

Dot's a Cutie

The ad agency Wieden + Kennedy, London created this animated piece using a Nokia camera that you or I might have. What's super amazing is the scale: this is the smallest stop-motion animation character in a film. Ever. Add in that Dot is adorable, she gets a big Hello There Cutie!!! xxxo

Giant (and mini) Cuties

Who are these two Cuties hanging out in Central Park? It's Boo Boo the Chihuahua and Giant George. These two are in the Guinness Book of World Records, with Boo Boo being the worlds smallest dog (4 inches tall, 6.5 inches long) and Giant George the largest (3 feet 5 inches). I'm not a size queen but will say this: these are two of the biggest Cuties we've ever seen!!! Hello There Cuties! xxxo

Cutie Hia

The girl in the foreground is Jennifer Elise Cox (Jan from the Brady movies) who is a Cutie but our posting today is about the painting in the back. This painting was done by my Grandma, who signed her artwork Hia (her name in Hebrew), and was a very prolific painter. This, as most of her work, didn't come from travel or experiences but from magazine photos she got inspiration from. Hello There Cutie Hia!!! xxxo

Bentos are Cuties

I'm trying to be healthier right now (new years resolution) and part of that is, of course, eating better. Healthier = cuter in all aspects of life, and I'm finding inspiration with these bento box lunches. Whoever has the sick/cutie mind to make these, please contact me as I think we've found an answer to my what to eat dilemma! xxxo

Veggies Are Cuties

We love out veggies at Hello There Cutie... and when used in a British WW2 sign, they are adored even more. Throw in a sassy "Dig For Victory", we most certainly did this sign!!! xxxo

L'Escargot Cuties

This sign is for Marco Pierre White's restaurant 'L'Escargot' in the Soho area of London, England. I'm not a big fan of snails as food, but am always a fan of cute signs. This rather proper gent in full riding gear makes me perhaps wish to try one... only if he steps aside first tho! Hello There Cutie!!! xxxo

Labor Day Cuties

Labor Day became a federal holiday in 1894, when, following the deaths of a number of workers at the hands of the U.S. military and U.S. Marshals during the Pullman Strike, President Grover Cleveland put reconciliation with the labor movement as a top political priority. The form for the celebration of Labor Day was outlined in the first proposal of the holiday: A street parade to exhibit to the public "the strength and esprit de corps of the trade and labor organizations," followed by a festival for the workers and their families.... but to me it means bbq!!! Happy Labor Day Cuties! xxxo

Secret Squirrel is a Cutie

Had supper the other pm with my friends Noah and Christine. Their nickname for me is Secret Squirrel and they gave me a Cutie worthy SS figurine. Back in the 60s, Secret Squirrel was a kids cartoon that was a spoof of spy movies; luckily his sidekick Morocco Mole would help him get out of trouble. To see what he's all about, you can click here for some un-pc SS fun!

Smokey is a Cutie

Am off to go hike today and am hoping to see Smokey the Bear. With his adorable hat, big smile and message that only I can prevent forest fires, I think old Smokes would be a fun hike-mate. Besides, he carries a shovel and could protect me from the other critters not as friendly as he. Hello There Cutie! xxxo
