A Cutie Kawaii Start to August!

It's August which for me is the happiest month ever!!! The sun shines extra bright, the birds seem to sing a bit prettier and oh, it's my bday month! Wee hee... August is going to be full of all my fave things: friends, family (a wedding included), gluten free cupcakes from Kara's (subtle hint), presents (another subtle hint), lotsa cute experiences and most of all, celebrating another year. And Hello There Cutie of course.   xxxo

Salty Cutie

I went walking down to Clement Street yesterday and stoppped by my fave Japanese supermarket: Super Tokio! While there, I saw this guy above and immediately thought this would be a great solution for the ordinary salt on my shelf. Well, it's not ordinary salt, as the owner told me when I went to purchase this Ajinomoto salt, it's a special MSG salt. (yeeech) So now I ponder: if I went back and washed out the container then I could use it for my boring salt? Hello There Cutie!   xxxo

Sponge Cuties

The other evening I had some friends over for supper and to my delight, one offered to do dishes while I fixed dessert. As there is no dishwasher in my place (except me!) I was thrilled but also pondered this: if I had Hello There Cutie worthy sponges on hand, would more guests volunteer to do my dishes? Hmmm, might need to go to the store to pick some up in the name of science!!!   xxxo

A good friend is in Phoenix where the sun is warm, shining and a crying newborn is interrupting her sleep. Milky Cutie

I was with some friends last nite and their (almost 3 year old) daughter, after being put to bed, came out and asked for some warm milk. It was so adorable, Anouk walking with her bottle of milk all sleepy-eyed. I recently rediscovered the Russian design studio Hattomonkey who do some very Hello There Cutie worthy packaging; above is a carton of milk they did that I think Anouk would approve of. We certainly do, right cuties? xxxo

Toast-y Cutie

After my T/Th workouts, I look forward to having a huuuge coffee and breakfast. Today, a rainy and rather dreary day, the comfort of buttered toast sounded perf. A Cutie World

Somedays I wish I lived in another world... away from the stresses of life. This kawaii illustration by our Cutie friend Charuca (who we have written of often) takes me away to that land. I'm starting to feel better (hooray) but food is still not sounding good... if only the cuties above were in my fridge! I don't know if I could actually eat these as their smiles and faces are so adorable but I like the idea of happy food. Hmmm, what do you think of as happy food cuties? Look what I found on Etsy cuties! Some adorable mary jane shoes with sweet clouds on them. Lovingly made with rosy red cheeks and hand stitched smiles, I just wish they came in my size (these are size 4 U.S./35 Euro). sigh... well Hello There Cutie kicks anyway! xxxo

Have a Cutie Weekend!

Some weeks Friday isn't soon enough... this is one of them! I feel like Snow White singing a song with a birdie friend now that 5 o' clock is here. Ok, a kawaii Snow White. Here's a wish ("I'm wishing...", yes am now singing like Snow) for all of us to have a fun, happy weekend full of joyful whistling men, friendly woodland creatures and no evil queens. Fluffy Snow Cutie

The other day I was driving thru an area of town (the Sunset) I usually don't. It's very cold & foggy there but on Noriega Street was this ray of kawaii sunshine! Fluffy Snow is a shop that sells "snow ice" which is described as "a ride on a cotton candy rainbow" per their Facebook. Wow, a fabulously adorable logo and a great food descrip equals Hello There Cutie!!! xxxo

Charuca + Hello Kitty = Cutie

As you might recall from our previous posts about the Spanish artist Charuca (here & here), we adore his style of kawaii and fun with a slightly off twist. So imagine my surprise when my InBox had a newsletter of his newest stuff, including a collaboration with our fave Hello Kitty!!!
This illustration is for the Sanrio Foundation which "bring smiles to children in hospitals"... a good cause and a fave artist? Hello There Cutie!!! xxxo

This is a Thank You card to all our fabulous readers!!! My new fave website Folksy (kinda a UK version of Etsy) has these adorable cards by "Asking For Trouble." Based upon their graphics, I think they should change their name to "Asking For Cute" myself! Kutusita Nyanko is a kawaii character that is super popular in Japan. One of my fave bday presents was a wee version of his best friend Boots. The story goes that Boots spends his time adventuring with his friends or helping around the house. Who wouldn't want a kitty like him?! Oh, and mine is named P. Kitty... why? Cus he liked it!
