This little cutie is a Christmas decoration from the 1950s, and boy does she have her hands full! I don't know if I've ever seen a candy cane that big, but she sure looks happy about it. I wonder if she'll eat it all? Hello There Cutie!!! xxxo
With Hanukkah (or is it Chanukah? or Hannukah? or...?) beginning tonite, these cuties from 1955 needed say make an appearance. This picture is from a kindergarten party in Haifa, celebrating the season of the lights. And dreidels. And potato pancakes. And eight presents! (we love that tradition) Hello There Cuties!!! xxxo
"Told Under The Christmas Tree" is a book from the 1940s that features Santa telling his woodland friends "stories from around the world." The deer looks particularly interested in the book... perhaps as a snack? xxxo
Our friend Danny collects PEZ candy dispensers. These four cuties are a sample of his large collection. Though PEZ had been introduced in the 1920s in Austria, toy character head dispensers did not appear until 1955, when the candy was introduced in the United States. There are over 550 unique dispenser heads with thousands of variations. Santa Claus and Mickey Mouse were among the first character dispensers.
This stocking from the 1950s seems to be a celebration of Cutemaskah... we didn't realize the holiday had been around that long! With images of Christmas, Hanukkah and some adorable animals, it's like someone read our minds before we were born. Well, whoever David is, I hope he's having a wonderful Cutemaskah season! xxxo
"Cheerful looks and words are very... Sure to make the Christmas merry" declares this little cutie on her hobby horse. And who wouldn't be merry in those fabulous red shoes with matching frock? I think she's ready for her first Cutemaskah, don't you? Hello There Cutie! xxxo
Little Dot is getting ready for gift-giving. I'll bet there's some great Chanukah gifts mixed in with the Christmas presents. Notice the blue wrapping paper...that's always a clue!
These glamorous gals shimmer, sparkle and shine as they fall to the ground on this cold, rainy and snowy December morning. Wherever you are in the world, stay warm, safe and cute!
With winter now upon us, this illustration by Shout of a lone skater in Central Park made me smile for a joy of the season. I wonder if all those patterns are his skate trails alone, or perhaps include those of his friends who are now prepping a cup of cocoa for him... xxxo
This is something I never imagined: an anime Hannukah illustration! This cutie has typically large anime eyes, and is staring intently at his spinning dreidel. His smile is bittersweet tho; perhaps he's afraid he'll land on "Shin" and have to put a piece of candy into the pot? Oy... Hello There Cutie Hanukkah Boy! xxxo
Santa is almost always a cutie, but when he's portrayed in such a groovy 70's way, instant cutie! Adore that he's waving to us (cus we're nice, not naughty?) and the multitude of patterns on both his outfit and background. Lastly, his big red nose (hot toddy Santa?) and big smile make us say Happy Cutemaskah Cutie Santa!!! xxxo
As expected, our good friend Hello Kitty is making a Cutemaskah appearance, wearing ensembles to celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah! Just can't figure out which is more adorable... I think the fluffy purse with the Santa dress puts it slightly in the lead, tho. Hmmmm, where's her dreidel purse to even the odds??? Hello There Cutie Kitty's! xxxo
Ok, I gotta be real here: this Hoover would not be my ideal Cutemaskah present! Altho it is red and has a sassy bow, I'd be a bit more interested in the gifts to the side of it, especially if one is from Cartier. Or Sanrio. Or not an appliance. Luckily this cutie seems happy with her gift... better her then me! xxxo
