Toast Cuties

This campy little toaster cover is hand embroidered in vintage style by Needle-n-Me. As I use a 1950s toaster (it was my parents), this totally appeals to my toast aesthetic. And who wouldn't want to start their day buttering these smiling cuties??? xxxo

This cutie was made by Candian artist Christina Romeo... so much to adore about it!!! From the whimsical typography to the message (which speaks to me) to the wee lass in the silly hat, this wonderful ceramic tile should be in every Cutie home. Or at least mine! xxxo

Glo Cutie

Glo Worm was a stuffed toy, sold by Playskool starting in 1982. The cutie's plush body contained a battery-powered device that, when squeezed, would light up the toy's vinyl face from within, creating a soft glow. Cute!

Cute Kara

Superman's cute younger cousin Kara Zor-El appeared in the 6-issue comic book miniseries Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the 8th Grade.  In this series, Kara is a typical tween from Krypton's moon, Argo, who unintentionally ends up on Earth, taking the identity of 8th grader Linda Lee. The series has been collected into a trade paperback.

Yes - this cutie is actually a cell phone with camera and bluetooth from China. What will they think of next?

Wedded Bliss Cuties

I must admit I am confused. I always thought Hello Kitty was a little girl kitten... I just found out her and Dear Daniel are getting married. Do they allow child brides in Japan? Or are they perhaps playing "dress up"? And is that a yarmulke on his head? Whatever the answers, Congrats Cuties!!! xxxo

Shroom Cutie

We love mushrooms, but super-duper-love cutie mushrooms! This card by the English artist Lisa Jones can be found on her website (along with other fab items). Cute Red Panda

Not sure who the artist is behind this cutie, but one look into those adorable eyes and even the meanest person can't help but melt. As a test, readers should show this image to their most evil nemesis and sit back and watch the results!

Kissin Kuties

Remember these old Dutch statues that you could move together and apart? Well, here's an updated one from a shop called Lütt & Fien in Hamburg, Germany. Doug and I reproduced this pose once outside his house in Burbank and, if I might say, our version was almost as adorable as these two! Hello There Cuties!!! xxxo

Cutie for Prez!

How about a little empowerment this President's Day? When cutie Grace's teacher reveals that the United States has never had a female president, Grace decides to be the first. And she immediately starts off her political career as a candidate the school's mock election. But soon, she realizes that she has entered a tough race. Her popular opponent claims to be the "best man for the job"--and seems to have captured all the male votes--while Grace concentrates on being the best person . In this timely story, author Kelly DiPucchio not only gives readers a fun introduction to the American electoral system, but also teaches them the value of hard work, courage, and independent thought--and offers an inspiring example of how to choose our leaders. Sweet Valentine Cuties

Conversation hearts have a history that extends back to the 1860s, when Daniel Chase created a machine to print messages onto candy hearts. These initial messages were primarily wedding-related and much longer than the ones with which we are familiar.

By 1902, the succinct love messages that we recognize began appearing on conversation hearts made by the New England Confectionary Company (NECCO). Initially, candies in a number of shapes—hearts, watches, horseshoes, baseballs—invited the recipient to offer a kiss or to be true. Eventually, these other candy shapes became history, but the hearts have remained. And their cuteness!!! xxxo

Valentines Cuties

Happy Valentine's Day to my favorite girlfriend in the whole world. Thanks for 15 years of giggles, tee-hees and general silliness! Smooches!

Creepy & Cutie

The sentiment is sweet, but the copy writing is a bit macabre in this vintage Valentine's Day card. All that's missing is "I Love You TO DEATH Dear!"

Amelie is Our Cutie

Eight years ago today, a sweet little bunny was living on borrowed time at SF Animal Care and Control. On her cage was the name Spike but she was a sweet, French looking mini Rex that seemed more like an Amelie. She was adopted on February 13th, and has since filled the lives of many with cuteness, kisses and love. Hello There Cutie to the cutest in the land!!! xxxo

Snowy Cuties

If I were a blonde, Doug still back East and time-warped to the 50s, this would be us on V-day! Sledding along with one of our pets (I think it'd be my bunny Amelie), big smiles and wearing cute outfits. And, of course, with a "pun" thought bubble above us! Hello There Cuties!!! xxxo

Cute & Stinky

Most of my friends think I'm weird when I say this, but I don't HATE the smell of skunk. In fact, I almost think I like like the smell. Of course I've never been super-close to an actual stinky skunk, maybe then I'd change my mind. If all skunks looked like this little fella, we'd all say "Hello There Stinky".

V-day B-day Cutie

It's my half birthday today so how about an adorable 1950s B-day V-day card that reads:

Betcha Dan Cupid is raising a glass...
And drinking a toast or two

To the stork who gave Valentine's Day some class...
By bringing somebody like you!

Super Bowl of Cute

Charlie Brown always falls for the same prank over and over again. Lucy Van Pelt can't help herself because Charlie is such an easy victim. These cuties are my two favorite football players and watching PEANUTS is a great alternative way to spend today.

Groundhog Day Cuteness

February 2 2010 is two things in my land: Groundhog Day and the premiere of Lost.

Groundhog Day tradition has it that if the gopher Punxsutawney Phil (from Penn.) emerges from his temporary burrow—a simulated tree stump at the rural site of Gobbler's Knob—today and sees his shadow, winter weather will continue for 6 more weeks across the US. But if Phil doesn't see his shadow, then spring is just around the corner... we're hoping for the latter.

Tonites Lost will be fun, drinking Dharma beer (made the cute labels myself!) with friends and hoping that our fave cutie characters will live. And declaring that certain ones aren't cute-worthy (Jack!).

Yes, it's a Cutie Day indeed!!! xxxo
