Baby Gorilla Cutie
I saw this baby gorilla photo from a German zoo, but don't know much about this cutie. Well, except the obvious: he's adorable! Love the punk rock hair and how he's sticking out his tongue at the paparazzi. And those big eyes..Hello There Cutie! xxxo
Sunday Morning Cuties
One of my fondest childhood memories was waking up to the Sunday Funnies in our local newspaper. My favorites included Peanuts, Dennis the Menace, Nancy, Hi & Lois and Bil Keane's The Family Circus. According to sources, the strip began in February 1960 on the 29th (Leap Year Day!) under the title The Family Circle, but was changed to avoid confusion with the women's magazine of the same name. The single-panel daily strip appears in more than 1500 newspapers today and still tells the simple, sweet and cute stories of the Keane Family - father Bill, mother Thelma, and their tykes: Billy, Dolly, Jeffy and PJ. Grandparents sometimes appear (one is a ghost) as well pets Barfy, Sam and Kittycat.
The Sunday version of the strip breaks out of the single rounded panel and often tells a complete story through clever visuals. For more info visit The Family Circus website.

Miffy's A Cutie
So I was on the Miffy website looking for an eCard and found myself in the online store. Trouble! I never realised that I needed a Miffy sheet-set before. Isn't it adorable how she's peeking out behind the dark sheet? And what girly-girl doesn't love pink? Hello There Cutie!!! xxxo
Miffy on Cute TV
The iconic white bunny from Dick Bruna's beloved children's books comes to life on PBS, with 3D stop-motion animation, offering preschoolers tiny lessons for a great big world!
Pink & Cute
There's nothing like a pink breakfast cereal that also turns your (soy) milk into a sweet, pink liquid. Who would be a spokescat for such a product? Why none other than one of our favorite film felines The Pink Panther!

Knuffle Kutie
Knuffle Bunny is a Caldecott Award-winning children's book about a toddler named Trixie who loses her favorite toy bunny in the laundromat. Trixie isn't big enough to say words, so she tries to communicate via sounds... Adore the combination of b/w photography and cartoon-y illustration used throughout this NY story. Hello There Cutie book!!! xxxo

Plummy Cuties
I'm a typical American girl... I prefer sweet to sour. That said, the cutie super heroes on the front of this Japanese package of super-sour-crunchy Ume, the pickled Japanese plum, tempt me to try this. Perhaps I'll be big 'n' strong like them post eating some. Or at least have the ability to make silly faces. xxxo

Watercolor Cutie
Bella Foster is a Brooklyn, NY based painter and artist with her own v. unique style. This watercolor cutie I found on her website, and instantly fell in love with both the colors & whimsical lines. The more you look, the more you see. Luckily, it's so beautiful, I could look at it for hours. Whatta cutie!!! xxxo

Cute at Any Price!
Magilla Gorilla was the tar of THE MAGILLA GORILLA SHOW which ran from 1963 to 1966 and has been rerun ever since. Magilla spent his days in the display window of Mr. Peebles' Pet Show, eating bananas and being a clown for passersby. Desperate Mr. Peebles continually marked down Magilla's price to make the gorilla more attractive to potential customers. Each episode, Magilla would go home with a new owner, but somehow always ended up returning to the store.
One customer who was honestly interested in owning the big ape was a little girl named Ogee, who often asked "How much is that gorilla in the window?" .
We've got a gorilla for sale...
Magilla Gorilla for sale.
Won't you buy him...
take him home and try him...
gorilla for sale.
Don't you want a new gorilla you can call your own...
a gorilla who'll be with ya when you're all alone.
(Ogee speaking): "How much is that Gorilla in the window?"
Take our advice...

a gorilla like Magilla is mighty nice.

1960s Cutie
This photo from the sixties was sent in by a cutie reader. We usually don't post baby/kids shots, but how could we resist this one? Adore the mid-century furniture and our readers corduroy coveralls in bright red, with a big diaper bootie. Add in the sweet smile and Barbizon pose, it's a Hello There Cutie moment!!! xxxo

Saturday Morning Cuties
After a few years of Saturday morning reruns, THE FLINTSTONES returned to the airwaves on CBS in 1971 as part of THE PEBBLES AND BAMM-BAMM SHOW. Pebbles Flintstone and Bamm-Bamm Rubble were now suddenly smitten teenagers and voiced by Sally (ALL IN THE FAMILY) Struthers and Jay (DENNIS THE MENACE) North! The show ran for a few seasons, returning periodically in repeats and debuting on DVD in 2008. These cuties were eventually married, making the Flintstones and Rubbles not only neighbors, but family too.
Modernly Retro Cuties
Over on at kate spade they've gotten a bunch of great artists to design cards for Valentine's Day. These two cuties are 365 days a year worthy to me. I love how the little battery guy is listening to the cassette's headphones... what a wonderful illustration. Hello There Cuties!!! xxxo

Cute & Super Tiny!
A Finger Monkey! Is it real or some kind of Photoshop trickery? Supposedly, Finger Monkeys are really Pygmy Marmosets. They grow to be about 5-6 inches long and weigh about 4-5 ounces full grown.

A Cute Happy Ending
In the last of our series of Hello Kitty fairy tales it looks like our Kitty's mouth is back back to normal. A happy ending if there ever was one!
Bertie the Cutie
Bertie the Aeroplane was a character introduced to Australian audiences in 1945. He advertised Aeroplane Fruit Jellies and besides flying, could also sing! Bertie is still used in ads, but has been updated.. I prefer him pre-facelift! Hello There (vintage) Bertie the Cutie!!! xxxo

Shanghai Cuties
I'm heading back to SF, and waiting for me is my petite collection of Shanghai advertising from the nineteen teens. Although this cutie and her dog aren't in my collection, I adore her sauciness (note how high the slit of her dress is, showing a bit of slip) as well as the room decor. And of course her adorable companion, guarding that leg!!! Hello There Cuties. xxxo

Cutie Longstocking
There have been many adaptations of Astrid Lindgren's Pippi Longstocking books since Pippi first appeared in 1948. The very first film came out in 1949 - followed by a Swedish TV series in 1969. This series was edited into 4 feature films for international markets beginning with PIPPI LONGSTOCKING, as pictured above. Pippi is unconventional 9 year old who has superhuman strength and is sassy towards the adults she encounters, a cutie if there ever was one!

Tall & Cute
This vintage telephone and address book is quite precious and tall. Adorned with an adorable illustration depicting a sweet little girl, four birdies, a pup and lovely flowers. A delightful reminder that even though we're deep in the heart of Winter that Spring is only a few months away!
Thirsty Cutie
While browsing Etsy for ideas, I came across this adorable cuppa tea. Or is it coffee? Oh heck, it doesn't matter! Handmade in the UK, the sweet smile on this crocheted cup brought me a big smile. Hello There Cutie!!! xxxo

Cute & Christian
As mentioned yesterday, the late Art Clokey also created Davey and Goliath, a series of short animated stories that told morality tales through the adventures of a Protestant family that include trouble-prone Davey, his little sister Sally and their talking dog Goliath. These simple shorts ran Sunday morning on local TV stations throughout the 1960s up until the 80s and were clever and cute. I'd rather watch these then go to church!

Gumby, Pokey & Cutie
Animation legend Art Clokey passed away yesterday. Art was a pioneer in stop-motion clay animation, beginning in 1955. He is best known for his adorable animated television character Gumby. Since the 1950s Gumby and his pony pal Pokey have been a familiar presence on TV and in a 1995 feature film, Gumby: The Movie. Clokey's other famous production is the duo of Davey and Goliath, a series of religious-themed shorts funded by the Lutheran Church. If you've got a heart, then Gumby's a part of you...
