Some Vintage Cuties
Looks like these Cuties started their New Year's celebrating a bit early! This is from 1935, so hopefully they are done (or permanently pickled)... Either way, I adore their great expressions of happiness, fabulous outfits/accessories, and the joy that comes thru from this photo. Hello There Cuties! xxxo

Rainy Day Wishes
As you know, I adore cute umbrellas, and this one by Lulu Guinness fits the bill. The simpleness of the handwritten sweet message of "Every cloud has a silver lining" and the sophistication of the design def speaks to me. Add in that the shape is old fashioned, it gets a big "Hello There Cutie" from us! xxxo

Planning for 2011 Cuties
With 2011 just around the corner, gotta start planning for the year ahead. Each year I buy the same boring planner inserts at Vuitton, but this agenda might set me on a different course. Featuring illustration by Earmark's Mike Berndt, I adore all the different silly scenarios going on all over this... super Hello There Cutie, isn't it??? xxxo

Cutemaskah Stocking Time
Now don't forget to hang your stockings with care tonite Cuties... Santa also drops presents for those of us who celebrate Cutemaskah! And if you don't have one, just do what this little Cutie did: take one off your foot and use that instead (I do wonder what happened to her knickers tho).
Your friends here at Hello There Cutie hope Santa fills your stocking with lots of treats, love and surprises tonite. xxxo

Cutemaskah Hi-dee-ho Cutie
Each holiday season in anticipation of Christmas I watch the first South Park holiday special. The star of this is Mr Hankey, the Christmas poo who appears to all who have a high fiber diet to give them presents. And poo kisses. Add in that he's a Cutie, we give Mr. Hankey a big Cutemaskah hello!!! xxxo

Another Cutemaskah Cutie
This is Wilma, who is def a Cutemaskah Cutie! She was found on Etsy, and we adore so much about her it's hard to find a place to start. From her sweetie face to silly antlers that remind me of Max (the Grinch's dog), I think we can all agree on one thing: Wilma is def a Cutemaskah Cutie. Hello There Cutie!!! xxxo

Cutemaskah Cupcakes
For Christmas Eve this year I was ready to make Cutie cupcakes but instead was requested to make my super rich mac 'n' cheese. (sigh) I was kinda excited to make something as adorable as these guys above (esp. the Santa face and the giant candy one!) but might do these anyway for my friends. Would you like one Cuties? xxxo

Cutemaskah Elves
These cutie vintage Napco elves Christmas tree ornaments were made in Japan in the 1960s. Linking arms in celebration of Cutemaskah, these two are adorable with their innocent faces and silly proportioned bodies. Add in their vibrant outfits, we need to shout out a big "Hello There Cutie" to them! xxxo

A Shoe-In for Cutemaskah
Yes Cuties, this is a bit of a mirror as I adore buying myself presents. And who doesn't love a fab pair of shoes for the holidays? This collage is by the UK artist Kris Atomic, who has a wonderful eye in both her illustrations and photography. And, altho we've never met, seems to have captured me in this Cutemaskah collage!!! xxxo

I'm Back Cuties!!!
I'm flying back into SFO today and sure wish this place was still there! Circa 1961, the Pancake Palace was (per the text on the back of this postcard):
"... located at San Francisco International Airport, in a regal early San Francisco setting. Pancake is King! Fourteen varieties of the finest pancakes in the world."
Both looks and sounds soooo cutie!!! xxxo

Cutemaskah Hanukkah Cuties
This is a vintage Israeli poster from the Jewish National Fund that was done in 1960 to commemorate Hanukkah. The two very cutie Eretz Israeli children are together with a menorah, perhaps to light on this last nite of Hanukkah (and the 9th of Cutemaskah). As an fyi, you're going to need some more candles Cuties!!! xxxo

Bernal Cutemaskah Cuties
Down the hill from where I used to live in Bernal (an area of SF), these Cuties would come out to say hello each holiday season. They live in the window of a hardware store, and would always make me ponder "Which of the three is the REAL Santa Claus?" (I always suspected cowboy Claus) Even without an answer, they get a big Hello There Cutie!!! xxxo

Footsie Cutie
One of my girlfriend's texted me the cutest photo of her baby: he has discovered grabbing his feet is fun. When I saw this sweet pamphlet called "Proper Care of Babys Feet" from 1955, I pondered getting it for them... but the Cuties on the cover distracted me too much. Awww... Hello There Cuties! xxxo

Paul Smith Cutie-ness
Every designer I know has, at one time or another, carried a Rhodia notepad. The fab British clothing guru Paul Smith has carried one for years and designed a series of covers for them. Although the iconic orange notepads are sold out, this black one featuring a major cutie reading (along w/the PS stripes) has caught my eye indeed. Hello There Cutie! xxxo

It's (the continuation of) Cutie Packaging Week!
My Grandma Helen used to have a philosophy about stocks that went like this "Buy what you like." Simple enough, right? Well, following in her steps I own a tiny bit of stock in Coca Cola. Why? Because it's the only thing that calms my tummy when upset, so I want to support it. And they have beyond Cutie packaging like this!!! xxxo

It's Cutie Packaging Week!
It's Cutie Packaging Week here at Hello There Cutie!!! We're starting off with something I found at Genki market on Clement Street this weekend. I had to buy this Tohato Caramel Corn because the little guy on the front (and his friends) were too adorable to turn down. Unfortunately, they are also super delish! So it was a Hello There and Good Bye Cuties in pretty rapid order... xxxo

Good for your face cus the critters on the front of the cans are beyond cutie so make you smile. The only bad thing is that they aren't available in the US. Booo... but Hello There Cuties anyway!!! xxxo

Fabric Cuties
In looking around for trends (gotta know 'em) I often get side-lined by things that catch my eye. Then if there's a Cutie angle, watch out!!! That's how I found Spoonflower, a company that makes custom fabrics! I looked around for ideas and found these adorable kids playing in a field with their gardening (and garden) friends... Go to this website, enter your address + message, print out and you too have made a custom envelope liner. Cool and v. Cutie indeed. xxxo

I adore the brand Knock Knock and their multitude of whimsical (and sassy!) products. I have a few friends who would def adore this wee tin box! In addition to containing a tongue-in-cheek remedy booklet, affirmation cards, healing bandages, recovery certificate, and metal charm, it has a fabulous silicone bracelet that reads "Burnt Out" on it. Funny and cutie! xxxo

Day of the Dead Cutie
Today is Day of the Dead, and this Cutie take on the art for it is by the Canadian illustrator Christina Patterson. Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) is a gathering to pray for/remember friends and family members who are no longer with us in parades, at shrines or even alone. If there is a celebration in your town, I highly recommend going. xxxo
